Hands down the BEST MUAY THAI GYM in NYC!! I’ve been part of two gyms previously, but joining Hinds was a game-changer. Hinds does it like no other. From the fair pricing and spacious facilities to the top-of-the-line coaches with both amateur and professional combat experience, everything here is exceptional. The most important aspect, though, is the incredible family-like community. Whether you’re a seasoned Muay Thai practitioner or completely new to combat sports, Hinds has something for you. The coaches are incredibly supportive and tailor their instruction to all skill levels. You’ll find experienced, training partners eager to help you improve weekly, as well as beginners just starting their Muay Thai journey. This gym is more than a place to train – it’s a community where everyone supports each other's growth and celebrates every achievement, big or small. My only regret in my muay thai journey was not discovering Hinds Combat Sports sooner.

During my year in LIC, I trained at Hinds. This was after my 8-month hiatus (due to hamstring surgery), so I wanted to pick a spot that prioritized safety. I started with private lessons with Coach Sean Hinds who was very patient with me as I eased back into my martial arts training. I liked that he covered a lot of fundamental concepts in each lesson which included the clinch and trips. Soon, I transitioned to taking the Muay Thai and jiu-jitsu classes there. I always felt very safe, and I NEVER got injured. The classes were very fun, as the instructors covered basics and modern topics. One of the instructors - Kyle - is a leglock specialist, so definitely check out his classes. My favorite day is Sunday because after Jeff's no-gi class, there is a Muay Thai class followed by SPARRING. The sparring is broken down to boxing, kickboxing, then clinch. Sparring always reminds me of how much I have to learn still, but it's a great time. I miss those the most. Overall, 5/5 gym, clean, safe, friendly, fun. I met a lot of cool, fascinating students there.
