Back in 2018-2019, a friend of mine told me that there was a Florian Martial Arts gym in our office building in Massachusetts. I felt a pang of jealousy because I used to live in another country and had no opportunity to go there. My envy grew when he mentioned that he had the chance to talk to UFC legend Kenny Florian, whom I'm a huge fan of. From that moment on, I began to imagine myself attending this gym and practicing MMA right in my office building. I finally joined this gym about a year ago, and to my surprise, I was warmly welcomed by the team. Whenever I feel exhausted, fatigued, or stressed during the day, I know that I can jump into the evening classes, have fun, learn a lot, and forget about everything else. At Florian Martial Arts, you can access high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Boxing classes. You can also hone your wrestling skills alongside your teammates. The gym offers different schedules for adults and kids. Professor Keith Florian is always there to support the team during competitions and consistently teaches us valuable techniques, ranging from the basics to the latest movements. The gym itself is conveniently located just a one-minute walk from Brookline Village Station and has plenty of parking spots on Kent Street. It boasts a spacious area for martial arts training, a designated space for stretching, and a weightlifting zone. Additionally, the gym manager, Jake, is highly professional, and the gym is always kept clean. The team members are extremely friendly, and you can engage in discussions on various topics since professionals from different fields frequent the gym. Personally, I enjoy discussing MMA/BJJ-related topics on the mat and IT-related matters after the sessions. Come and join us; I believe you'll love it. Every day I will show up :)
This is a super caring and beginner friendly gym. As someone who had no experience with a contact sport of any kind, it was a little scary getting in the gym. But professor Keith and the whole team are very patient with everyone and do a good job making sure everyone gets the help they need. This gym would also be a good environment for more advanced jiu jitsu players as they also have a large group of advanced students who compete regularly. Gym is also very clean and everyone does a good job of keeping it that way. definitely recommend for anyone.
