I signed up for a free trial class and honestly really enjoyed it. The coach, Joe, was personable and friendly, helpful, and understanding as I attempted to learn a new skill. The coach "Sonia" seems to be a different kind of righteousness. The membership was monthly based at $170, which was a bit out of budget range, and also did not include a $10 per day rental of equipment. I asked if I could attend once a week class and pay per session, which would round out to $40 per session, $160 per month. Her response was to offer private lessons or resort back to the monthly membership, which I had already explained I could not afford. The private lesson offer just felt like a way to turn me away because it was more expensive? Overall, it was pretty disappointing, I really enjoyed the gym and the atmosphere. But it seems like a money grab with the backing of "as a coach, this is my way or the high way." Long gone are the days when adults can take a class for fun instead of turning it into some kind of intense training series to become a fighter for this gym. I recommend trying as long as you're willing to do it their way, as there is no willingness to be flexible with this gym.
What became a home in Seattle. Trained here for nearly 2 years and it was an amazing experience. Feels like I’ve gained an extension of family at this gym and whenever I’m in town I always will pay visits. Great rolls and people all around. Traveling to Seattle once or twice a year gives me happiness knowing I’ll see everyone again. Thank you CAA
